Bronx Oncology Living Daily (BOLD) at Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center provides a wide variety of innovative, holistic support programs to people with cancer and their families. Being a BOLD volunteer is rewarding and a great way to give back to your community and neighbors as they navigate cancer.

Be a BOLD Volunteer: How It Works

Our commitment to you through our volunteer program includes:

  • A supportive, nurturing environment in which to learn and grow
  • Supervision and support from licensed psychologists and behavioral researchers
  • Opportunities to participate in community outreach activities as applicable
  • Credit for volunteer hours worked for school or work
  • Hands-on training and experience in behavioral cancer research
  • Data shared with you for academic purposes (dissertation, poster, etc.) after six months of successful volunteer participation
Your Commitment as a Volunteer

The work of the BOLD program is important to our volunteers and our community, so we ask you to make a serious and genuine commitment by agreeing to the following:

  • Volunteering for a minimum of five hours per week for 12 months
  • Being prompt and responsible for all scheduled volunteer hours and appointments related to the program
  • Making up hours that you missed
  • Representing yourself and the program professionally and enthusiastically via speech, behavior and dress
  • Responding within 24 hours to staff phone calls and emails
  • Taking the initiative and being persistent with study recruitment and assessments
