Esophageal Cancer Prevention

At the NCI-designated Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, we’re focused on preventing cancer from ever starting and catching it as early as possible, when treatment is easiest and most effective.

Esophageal cancer prevention is the goal of our world-renowned gastrointestinal oncology team.

There are many things you can do to lower your chances of getting esophageal cancer. Quitting smoking lowers your risk of developing esophageal cancer. You can also understand your family health history, choose healthy nutrition, limit alcohol use, treat reflux and add exercise to your daily routine. It’s also important to identify cancer in its earliest stage and getting a cancer screening can help.

For more than 50 years, Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center has been a leader in the research, diagnosis and treatment of over 200 types of cancer. Turn to us for expert cancer screening and prevention.
