Our teams have studied different uses of pretreatment positron emission tomography (PET) scans. These scans can be used to identify lesions at risk for progression, after concurrent chemoradiation therapy, for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. We have also studied FLT3 ligand immunotherapy for patients with non-small cell lung cancer that has progressed after standard treatment. Another active study at our cancer center is focused on developing novel T-cell-activating agents that target tumors with more precision and cause fewer side effects.
