This monthly series for primary care providers will feature presentations by a multi-disciplinary panel of cancer specialists at Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) and White Plains Hospital (WPH). The focus will be on increasing primary care providers’ understanding of cancer survivors’ needs and the resources available to support them. COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Evaluate cancer survivors for treatment of side effects, psychosocial and sexual well-being.
  • Identify cancer survivors in need of survivorship care, follow-up, counseling, and supportive care.
  • Select assessment measures and interventions for cancer survivors.
  • Manage cancer survivor patients in their practice appropriately according to their individual needs.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of this course, nurses will be able to identify cancer survivors in need of specialized support. They will be aware of the resources available to address each survivor’s individual needs and how to direct them appropriately
